POSITION SUMMARY:        The Product Manager will provide resources and guidance necessary to drive sales performance, training, and customer centric service.  The Product Manager will use his/her product knowledge and training skills to support and develop the field team to maximize productivity.  The role will enable revenue and margin growth by delivering product management for key products and supplier partners.  This position will also contribute to the market strategy and product plan development.


**This is a remote eligible position with preference to a candidate in the Eastern Time Zone**




  1. Serves as the national subject matter expert for product-related questions and new product ideas which surface from customers, sales, operations, supplier partners, or market research.
  2. Identifies and analyzes critical issues related to the product and promotion of the product(s).
  3. Aligns and collaborates with business group to ensure proper product positioning within the company.
  4. Develops proper and thorough documentation (internal and external) describing product enhancements as appropriate.
  5. Manages the resolution of escalated customer problems. Escalates problems and issues to other departments and/or supplier partners when needed.
  6. Partners with sales management teams to drive initiatives that maximize sales revenue and assigned objectives.
  7. Works with marketing department to develop effective communication activities including product positioning and collateral development.
  8. Positions the brands to create awareness to attract new market share.
  9. Collaborates with supplier partners to build strong relationships and build the product portfolios.
  10. Assess competitive products and offers cross-selling advantages.
  11. Takes the lead on national & regional communication for supplier partner market campaigns.
  12. Manage and maintain brand trademarks
  13. Updates and manages Technical Data Sheet for compliancy
  14. Responsible for expiring labels and packaging updates
  15. Oversees quality control of products
  16. Oversees and plans product testing
  17. Presents brand to new/key accounts

Mandatory Requirements-

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related degree (equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree) or equivalent work experience.




Mandatory Requirements-

  1. 5+ years’ experience as a project manager and/or product management or equivalent work experience
  2. 5+ years of paint industry experience
  3. Proactive and decisive leader with excellent communication skills.
  4. Strong project management, time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
  5. Demonstrated ability to build relationships
  6. Ability to utilize data and analytics to make informed business decisions.
  7. Proven implementation/execution ability
  8. Proven track record as an effective change agent
  9. Highly organized and strong ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects by using appropriate methodologies and tools


Preferred Requirements-


  1. Proficiency with PC’s and Microsoft suite of products.

  1. Predominantly home office but may also work in office, branch, and warehouse conditions.
  2. 25% Travel Requirement (Tradeshows, Vendor Meetings, Home Office)
